How ZERONA™ Works
Voluminous adipose tissue can appear when fatty material is present, and this, in turn, can bring about enlarged subcutaneous fat regions. Because subcutaneous fat is close to the skin's surface, laser emulsification can have a dramatic effect. The collapse of adipose arrangements have been noted after laser therapy, reducing their volume and providing effective body contouring results.
Product Overview
The Erchonia® Laser Scanner is specially designed for use during liposuction and the ZERONA™ non-invasive body contouring procedure. The laser is applied externally and has proven through double blind clinical trials to emulsify adipose tissue.

Applications
ZERONA™ is a non-invasive body contouring procedure using the Erchonia® Laser Scanner. The multi-site clinical trial conducted by Erchonia® Medical to validate the process focused on the abdomen, hips, and thighs. As a logical conclusion, the science behind ZERONA™ can also be applied to other parts of the body. Medical professionals using the Erchonia® Laser Scanner are currently experimenting with the efficacy of ZERONA™ treatment when used on cellulite, the upper back, and arms, to name a few possible additional applications.
Body Sculpting
ZERONA™ is a new non-invasive body sculpting procedure designed to remove fat and contour the body without invasive surgery. ZERONA™, unlike other procedures, allows the patient to continue their daily activities without interruptions from surgery, pain, wounds, or garments. ZERONA™ works by utilizing the Erchonia® Laser Scanner, which is also FDA market cleared for laser assisted liposuction. The Laser Scanner allows for the emulsification of adipose tissue, which releases into the interstitial space. The excess fat is then passed through the body during its normal course of detoxification. The ZERONA™ procedure was proven through a double-blind, randomized, multi-site, and placebo-controlled study in which patients, on average, lost 3.64 inches from their waist, hips, and thighs. This result is dramatic compared to the placebo group, which only lost an average of half an inch.

Protocol
ZERONA™ patients are treated six times over two weeks. Each of the six sessions takes 40 minutes. Treatment is delivered 20 minutes to the front of the body and 20 minutes to the back of the body. During this time the patient relaxes comfortably in a prone position.
The protocol is completely non-invasive and patients feel nothing during treatment. No downtime or recovery period is needed after treatment. Instead, patients can resume normal activities immediately.
